Our Veterinarians
Franklin M. Carmona, DVM
Dr. Carmona joined our hospital after graduating from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He became co-owner in 1992 and now he is the sole owner of the practice. His veterinary interests include surgery and pocket pets.
Dr. Carmona is married to Jacqueline Walsh, DVM and they have two children. Their pets include a box turtle and a Labrador Retriever named Wesley.
Gurpreet Kaur, DVM
Dr. Kaur joined the practice in 2022. She feels proud to be working back in her hometown. She graduated from Michigan State’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She has interests in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and general medicine. After moving to Chicago for a short while, her and her husband decided to come back and settle in the area. They now love spending any free time with their three children, their German shepherd mix, Yoki, and their Himalayan mix, Lou.
Laura Emmanuelli-Ramos, DVM
Dr. Emmanuelli joined the practice full-time in 2024 after covering as a relief doctor for about a year. She graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Dr. Emmanuelli’s areas of interest include preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery and dermatology. She is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and likes to visit her family there about once a year. Her and her husband decided to build their forever home in Rochester Hills after falling in love with the area. They now love spending any free time with their son Antonio, their Maltese mix Milo, and their Rat Terrier mix Maverick.
Our Staff
Annette grew up in Rochester Hills. She graduated from Michigan State University (Zoology) in 1997 and Macomb Community College (Veterinary Technology) in 2000. She has 2 dogs named Osh and Mosby, and a cockatiel named Drake.
Heather
Heather graduated from Oakland University in 2010, where she studied dance and fine arts. After that she went on to work at Petsmart, where she went through the grooming academy, and continued for 8 years! While grooming she began working for Banfield Pet Hospital. She has been in the veterinary field since 2015. Heather has a passion for animal dentistry; she enjoys cleaning teeth and seeing the outcome of a nice clean smile!
JoAnna
JoAnna graduated from Northern Michigan University (Zoology) in 1997 and has worked in the veterinary field since 1999. She has a dog named Lorenzo and three cats- Pauley, Izzy and Ruby. She is also a diehard Wings, Tigers and Lions fan.
Courtney, LVT
Courtney graduated from Macomb Community College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2003 and has been working at our hospital ever since. Among her many talents, she is our usual tech support go-to person, and between our computer system, digital x-rays, and lab machines, we need a lot of tech support! She has amazing skills and her sense of humor keeps us going on the hard days. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She currently has a dog, Luke, and two cats, Tippy and Theo.
Chelsea
Chelsea studied at Pima Medical school and graduated with her Veterinary assistant certificate. She is one of our customer service representatives and veterinary assistant. She has two dogs, Zara and Louie.
Angela
Angela has been in veterinary medicine for 15 years and licensed for 8 of those. She is married and has one child. She spends a lot of time at the barn with her daughter. She has two Alaskan Malamutes, Nox and Saoirse, that she shows. When she’s not doing that or working, she enjoys reading, music and fiber arts.
Julie
Julie one of our customer service representatives who is originally from Grand Rapids Michigan. She moved over this side of the state in 2001. She has been working in the Veterinary field for almost 25 years. She has an immense love for animals and working with people, so she has the best of both worlds! Julie has two dogs named Cyrus and Bosley, and three cats named Phil Collins, Maui and Jasper. You will always hear a smile over the phone or see a smile on her face when visiting our office with your furry friend.
